MPDC Central Station
The headquarters of the Metropolitan Police Department, DC’s finest, is situated in the Judiciary Square neighborhood of DC. The MPDC is one of the largest police forces in the USA, and they have their hands full. Crime has long been a problem for the district, but lately things have gotten significantly worse. Everyone knows that the Russian Mafia rules the crime scene in DC, and for many years the MPDC was happy to turn a blind eye to certain things because the overall order was maintained—petty crimes like muggings and drug busts were down, even as DC became a hotbed of more serious criminal activities. Not to mention the fact that the Russian Mafia is a well known “contributor” to various MPDC “functions.” But in recent years, street gangs have become emboldened to lash out against the Russians, and now the city has no less than six competing factions, and petty crime and drug-related activities are approaching the highs last seen during the crack epidemic of the 80’s.
The fact that the Police Chief, Marvin Wilson, seems to think that the troubles in the city are all in everyone else’s head don’t seem to help things. His detractors say he’s been too busy schmoozing with his higher-ups in order to maintain his job to understand what’s happening on the streets. And the citizens of DC are paying for his willful ignorance.
