Victor Gregori

Russian Crime Lord

Description:
Bio:

Victor Gregori immigrated to the USA from Russia shortly after the fall of the USSR in 1991. He went to work as a small-time criminal, moving stolen goods for the Russian Mafia in DC for a short time until he caught the attention of the former head of the Russian Mafia, Aleksandr Petrovich. Gregori was an uncommonly industrious criminal who was as efficient as he was ruthless, and Petrovich saw his potential, inviting him into his inner circle. Gregori worked as the right-hand man to Petrovich for several years until Petrovich’s untimely death in his sleep from unknown causes. Of course assassination was suspected by all, but no one could be sure who committed the murder. Some suspected the CIA, others suspected the FBI, and of course many suspected it was an ordered hit by one of the several street gangs in DC. Other, more paranoid individuals in the mafia suspected it was an inside job perpetrated by someone seeking power—many have pointed the finger at Gregori himself, though those that know him understand how loyal and unconditionally devoted he was to Petrovich. As Petrovich had not laid out a clear succession plan in the case of his demise, a power vacuum followed his passing. Through uncanny maneuvering and sheer brutality, Gregori ultimately took charge of the Russian Mafia, and has been considered the most powerful criminal in DC for several years now. While it is generally well-known that he is involved in all sorts of illegal activities from human trafficking to money laundering and everything in between, no charges can be brought against him for lack of any evidence. The only arena that Gregori has placed any restrictions on is illegal drugs. While he doesn’t outlaw the sale of street drugs he does regulate them. Schools, churchs, and any mafia holding including the block any of these places are on is off limits. This has placed a huge strain on the area available for the sale of illegal drugs. It has also placed the Russian mafia in somewhat of a crosshairs for smaller street gangs willing to sell to anyone and looking to climb the underworlds power structure.
